Just in case any Mac users with 3DConnexion SpaceNavigators missed it - a 64 bit driver (version 1.6.0) for OS X was posted on their web site 2 days ago.

Somehow by increasing the insulation of a building and without doing any other changes, the heat that is required is increasing also. This seems to me completely insane. Any ideas?

I am trying to find out how to reslove the following question with walls- cadimage wall builderm part of the accessories tools.

When i add a wall builder (cladding) to a wall be it composite or fill pattern and I have an hidden wall underneath from my demolition walls layer, the wall builder breaks either side of the wall.

I have tried changing the different walls to different intersection group numbers and display order without success.

Thanks in advance

I had the same error occur the helpfull guys at cadimage helped solve it.

Open the wall builder with a wall selected.

When the dialogue comes up, pick stop.

Go to the appearance tab then floor plan. Choose a fill pattern such as empty fill.

Maybe your template had a fill that was not recognised as one of the 9 std fill types used.
(This is what cadimage said to me)

Hope that fixes it for you. It did me

i would appreciate an answer to the reason why i'm not able to recreate what you did...
As you can see in the attached image, i tried to make a stair exactly like yours, but:
1) The parapet wall isn't well connected to the stair, and there are triangular dents
2) The parapet wall at the beginning of the stair is vertical to the stair slab, instead of the ground
3) The parapet wall extends for about 1 metre to the end...

Also another thing, when i open the custom balustrade, the default dimensions are 0.10x0.05, and the balustrade appears slightly deformed, but when i change the dimensions to the actual 0.10x1.00 the balustrade appears completely stretched.

Another question: when creating the slabs for the custom balustrade what is optimal slab thickness to use?

There are a few clunky steps in there - particularly drawing the 'tent' object which you then apply to the splines. Why not a simple extrusion with some control over the transition between the two - e.g straight 100% tension or <100% gives you some sag (membrane effect).

NURBS tools are pretty well established in major 3D applications like Max, C4D and Rhino and all behave fairly similarly. Why do architectural applications need to reinvent the wheel here? Their UI's during element creation always feel so kludgey.

Behind the UI though (which can be fixed?) I think there is some good stuff going on there. Perhaps Graphisoft needs to entice them back...
