Is it possible to search the member list for a certain members name ?
Now that there are some 39 pages and many names per page,
it would be nice to know how to do this and if it is not no possible
could we have this type of search implemented.
Thank you,
Peter Devlin

You can't search for a name as such but you can search for all names beginning whith a certain letter.
This is just at the top of the member list.

Once you have done a search for the first letter it then lets you search all those names by the second letter in the name.

So you can narrow your search down quite cuickly.

Barry.
Cool

Barry,
Do you mean the "Select users by first letter" button ?
When I click on that button I am immediately returned to
the sign-in window.
How do you get it to behave in the way you describe ?
Thank you,
Peter Devlin

Yes thats the button to use.
Getting kicked out to the sign-in window must have been a wee glitch at the time you tried it.
I have just used it and narrowed the search down in three clicks to find that there are 10 members whose names start with 'stu'.

Very handy indeed.

Cheers
Stu.

That's the button.
Maybe as Stuart says just a glitch.
We both run Windows XP and I see you are on a Mac.
Maybe that is the difference - can any other Mac users give it a try?

We had a problem for a while where we got logged out every time we moved to a different section of the forum - but that has been fixed now.

All I can say is that it works for me on Windows XP with M$ Internet Explorer V6.0

Barry.

Stu, Barry, and Millard,
Thank you for your replies.
It must have been a glitch and not a platform issue
as Millard affirms.
I remember trying it twice but within minutes.
I will try again.
Thanks,
Peter Devlin
