For me the 178 degrees made sense because it is only 2 degrees from 180, which would mean the two sides are in the same plane, so if the angle is less than 2 degrees from that, it would make sense that the line is not displayed.
But this 11.48 degrees? There must be some mathematical reason for it.

I got an answer from the developer about this one. The limit is cos(b) > 0.98 when the break line is removed.

This is how it was migrated from the previous version's handling system back in 2001. Probably the intent was to handle segmented arcs (e.g. from import data) correctly if they're accurate enough.

Unfortunately, at this point, changing the value wouldn't be a good idea because it would break compatibility!
