I'm having a hard time because if you need to add a suffix (as you easily do in AutoCAD), you have to select the text portion of the dimension to customize it. It's not possible to customize the text from the dimension settings (apart from basic font styles/size) and the text does not have its own tool settings until it is placed and selected.
So you can't pre-set any defaults for the customized text.

For now, the same workaround for Level Dimensions works here. The whole text being isolated from the tool is a very facepalm thing...
